Dr. Roham Rafat has spent the last 10 years studying dentistry at the University of Maryland Dental School. He graduated from the Dental School in 2006 and completed a residency that he discovered a love of surgery, and he completed his specialty education in Periodontics and Implantology as well as a Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences in 2010. He is now pursuing a sub-specialty in Periodontal and Implant Prosthodontics. He also teaches as part of the Dean’s Faculty in the pre-doctoral clinics.
Dr. Rafat has also pursued continued education in dentistry outside of the Dental School. Most recently he completed an intensive course in intravenous conscious sedation so that he can treat his patients in a comfortable dream-like state. This is especially helpful for patients with anxiety about dental work.
