Dental Technology: Improving the Patient Experience

Dr. Lazer and Dr. Doroshenko have carefully designed his Baltimore dentist office to be comfortable and relaxing, without the sights, sounds, and smells typically associated with the dentist.

Digital Dental X-rays

Today, digital dental x-rays are considered a standard in modern dental care. Dr. Lazer was one of the first Baltimore dentists to incorporate this technology in his practice. He has more experience and continues to offer the latest technology to make the patient experience safe and more comfortable.

Satellite TV

Imagine watching your favorite TV shows and movies while you’re having dental work. Each of our operatory rooms has satellite television to help patients feel more relaxed and comfortable during treatment.

CBCT scans in Baltimore, Maryland

CBCT Carestream 8100 Panorex

Using panoramic x-rays, we are able to get a complete image of the mouth. CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) creates high-quality 2-D and 3-D images of the dental structure, including the insides of the teeth and the soft tissues of the mouth. CBCT scans are a valuable diagnostic tool we use for a variety of treatments. We can discover signs of tooth wear or decay, view impacted and crooked teeth, and even find the best areas of the smile for dental implants.

Electric Handpieces

Dr. Lazer has carefully selected electric handpieces that are quiet, putting patients more at ease.

Intra Oral Camera

The IntraOral camera is a sophisticated technology that allows Dr. Lazer to get a complete picture of the inside of your mouth. A tiny video camera on a wand-like probe moves comfortably inside the mouth around the teeth and gums to easily and accurately identify problems in their earliest stages.

A patient’s progress can easily be tracked with the IntraOral Camera. Before and after pictures can be easily taken and stored in the patient’s digital health record.

CBCT Scans

Cone beam computed tomography takes precise three-dimensional images of the teeth, gums, nerves, and soft tissues. The CBCT machine rotates fully around the patient’s head and takes hundreds of images to get a complete image of the mouth. Cone-beam CT scans emit far less radiation than traditional x-rays and take under a minute to capture images.

With 3-D CBCT scans, we can see more problems like bone loss, tooth decay, and gum infections. We can take CBCT scans for patients who require implant restorations, gum disease treatment, nightguards, fillings, or other restorative and general treatments. CBCT scans allow us to see dental problems that we can’t catch with a visual exam and can address dental problems before they worsen.

Ultrasonic Scaling

Scaling and root planning are a method of deep cleaning the teeth and gums. We offer ultrasonic scaling to remove stubborn plaque and stains from the teeth. The ultrasonic technology is more comfortable than traditional dental tools which scrape teeth.

3D Dental Printer in Baltimore MD

The Formlabs Form 3B

This 3-D laser printer makes it simple for patients to receive quick and precise dental restorations. This advanced printer allows our dentists to create biocompatible appliances. After one of our dentists uses an intraoral scanner to create a 3D image of the patient’s mouth, they can create dental crowns, bridges, dentures, and mouthguards in-office.

Pain-Free Dentistry

Your comfort is our top priority. Vibraject is a device that delivers anesthesia more effectively to significantly reduce or eliminate the pain associated with injections. The handheld device delivers a vibrating sensation to the area being treated which overrides the pain stimulus from the anesthesia needle.

Soft Tissue Laser

Dr. Lazer offers advanced periodontal services that are quicker, safer, and more comfortable. Common soft tissue procedures such as a frenectomy, gingivoplasty, gingivectomy, and crown lengthening can be performed in the comfort of our Baltimore dental office.

Soft tissue laser makes sterile incisions with little to no bleeding. Patients prefer laser technology which limits post-operative pain, decreases the needed visits for restorative procedures, and leads to improved treatment outcomes.

Nobel Biocare Implants

Nobel Biocare is the latest dental implant technology that allows our dentists to provide immediate replacement of teeth. Nobel Biocare utilizes CAD/CAM technology to plan the precise placement of dental implants.
