Patient Safety & Infection Control Baltimore, MD

Dr. Lazer, Dr. Doroshenko, and our dental care team are committed to the safety of our patients when visiting our Baltimore dental practice. As a dentist, we have always followed all guidelines and requirements of the ADA and OSHA to maintain a safe office environment.

In light of recent health concerns and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are adding additional office protocols to further protect our patients and staff and to prevent the spread of infection. Our team has spent time during the quarantine strategizing, training, and preparing our office to support these measures and earn your confidence as a loyal patient. We are CDC compliant for COVID-19.

COVID-19 Protocols: what to expect

We ask that if you are sick or have been exposed to the coronavirus that you call our office to reschedule your appointment. If you have recently traveled please wait at least 14 days after returning to visit our office.

These rules will remain in place until it is no longer a recommendation of the CDC or any local governing bodies and are designed to protect all patients and staff.

Patient Arrival and Front Desk

Dr. Lazer and Dr. Doroshenko will be scheduling patients on a staggered schedule to minimize the number of people in our office at one time. This is also done to allow more time between patients for the ongoing disinfection of all areas in the office.

We will be screening all patients upon arrival with temperature checks and a quick questionnaire to determine any risks to our team and other patients.

Our office is now asking that patients only enter our waiting room when we have contacted you to let you know your chair is ready. This can be done via text or phone call and will be pre-arranged when scheduling or confirming your dental appointment with Dr. Lazer or Dr. Doroshenko.

This will make it easy to avoid exposure to others, potential infection, and maintains social distancing requirements. For any patient needing to be in the waiting room prior to their appointment due to travel arrangements or other reasons, we will have seating spaced apart for safe relaxation.

Staff & Patient Personal Protection

Wearing masks and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are now almost commonplace for many of us as we move about in daily life. Our staff will be wearing appropriate PPE and we will be requiring patients to wear a mask as they enter and exit our office.

This is in accordance with state and federal recommendations and current CDC guidelines. Hand sanitizer will be available and offered to all patients upon entry to minimize the spread of germs on contacted surfaces.

Dr. Doroshenko has used 3-D printing to create personalized masks for all members of our staff. These masks are custom-fitted with a seal to the individual’s face. The front portion takes a level 3 filter from regular masks. Dr. Doroshenko also supplied these masks to local residency programs as PPE for medical residents working in hospitals.

Air Filtration

We have added medical-grade air filtration to our office. There will be Medify® units in each operatory containing H-13 HEPA filters, capable of capturing 99.9% of particles in the air. This serves as an added layer of prevention against the transmission of all germs including the coronavirus.

Surface Disinfection

Disinfection of all surfaces will be an ongoing process each and every day. We have always kept our office as clean as possible, following all guidelines from the ADA and governing bodies laid out for medical offices. To improve this process and prevent the transmission of COVID-19 we are using Bioblasting solutions which have been proven effective against the SARS-CoV-2 virus which causes the coronavirus.

Dental Exams & Cleanings

Our dental hygienists and dentists are all highly trained in infection control and will be using PPE at all times during your visit with us to protect you from possible infection. We will explain all changes in our procedures that are part of an increased infection control protocol and make every effort to ensure that you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout your dental visit.

We believe you will find that our “new normal” is easy to adapt to and well orchestrated by our dedicated dental care team.
